The scope of the assignment of the firm is to support the CDC and CEHRD in strengthening the development process of curriculum development, textbook writing, and instructional and supplementary learning materials (including teacher guides) with focus on mathematics, science and English subjects in basic and secondary education (output 1) including the development of high-quality e-resources (part of output 2) based on the approved framework for Sikai Chautari, and provide capacity development activities to the CDC on these subjects including exploring (inter)national partnerships (output 3). The firm will be responsible for achieving this scope in coordination with the government, development partners, other consultants, and other stakeholders.

The following are the detailed tasks the firm will be responsible for undertaking:
Output 1. Assist CDC to review the curriculum, textbooks and instructional and learning materials of selected subjects (mathematics, science, and English) for basic (grades 6-8) and (grades 9-10) education to provide feedback to the government on improvements when the government initiates revision process of the national curriculum and textbooks.
Facilitate CDC to assess the existing processes related to the development of curriculum, textbook and instructional and learning materials against international best practices and recommend improvements of curriculum and textbooks development process to meet national and global standards.
This assessment and recommendations will include at least the following:
